Water Testing

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) oversees all public water systems in the state and requires a number of different water tests at different intervals. Some tests are done weekly, where some are monthly and some are required on an annual basis once or twice a year, every 3 years or every 9 years.

The district is required to test for chlorine residuals twice a week.

Bacteriological tests are performed once per month.

The other tests that are done on a varied schedule are Disinfection Byproducts, Nitrate, Lead & Copper, Synthetic Organic Chemicals (SOC), Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOC), Inorganic Chemicals (IOC), Arsenic, Asbestos, Nitrite and Radium.

An annual water quality report is required each year. This is called the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). It is due by July 1st of each year and covers the testing for the previous calendar year. See the Water Quality Reports page for the current and past annual reports on water testing.
